HistoryInPhotos posted a photo: Conductor: Percy Code Ballarat City Band in regimental mode at the Citizen Military Forces (CMF) annual camp in 1925 The camps were held at a large army training camp, 4 km to the east of Seymour, Vic. During WWII the camp was transferred to Puckapunyal, to the west of Seymour.

So many Spring 2011 runways were awash in eyepopping neon prints and pop art mania that we were savoring the refreshingly unadorned minimalism of Albert Kriemler's Akris Spring 2011 collection in Paris…when we found ourselves fixating on the vaguely fetishistic footwear created especially for the show by Walter Steiger . Inspired by Kriemler's recent trip to Japan (“ishi” is Japanese for “stone”), they bring to mind the fabulous towering chopines of the late 16th century

Before we get into the rest of the season finale of Real Housewives of DC , I have something that you guys need to read, if you haven’t already seen it. Jezebel writer Tracie Egan Morrissey, one of my favorite bloggers, has compiled a rather comprehensive list of the various lies, cons and scandals in which our Awful Twins, Michaele and Tareq Salahi, have been involved over the past decade or so. When you sit and read it in a bulleted list, the scope of their grifting is nothing short of epic.

First and foremost, let’s all give a round of applause to Clemence Poesy/Eva/Frenchie for managing to say “Old Chuck, bad Chuck, new Chuck, good Chuck” in her non-native language and without struggling, stammering or making a face. I had a hard enough time just typing it (for some reason, the phrase came out with every word capitalized the first time), and I dare not attempt to say it out loud. What we saw may have been her 50th take, for all we know, but I’m not even sure I could do it with that many tries.
