Chloé’s latest bag is red all over

Recently I took issue with some of Chloe’s Fall 2010 runway bags , but the brand has somehow managed to redeem itself in my eyes in one fell swoop. Get on the bandwagon now, because the Chloe Cary Satchel has a ton of it-bag potential. Because of the distinctive detailing around the bottom zippers, I could see this satchel being turned into lots of other bag shapes – hobos, totes, maybe even a mini crossbody.

Last week Net-A-Porter announced they will be bringing new items every Monday, Wednesday and now Friday! My favorite arrival today is the Miu Miu Matelasse Waxed Leather Tote.

Eva Mendez with Dior Libertine hobo

A rather flustered-looking Eva Mendes was recently snapped in New York with a peach-coloured Dior Libertine hobo, which she seemed to be using as a shield against the paps. Being a large-sized bag, it seems to perform this function pretty well for Eva

Luxury Luggage: Travel in Style

As I continue to read the endless Twitter details of all my friends’ summer vacations (and then see the inescapable pictures on Facebook afterward), I can’t help but turn my attentions to travel. I still make due with the same black Samsonsite suitcase that accompanied me on my first jaunts to New York City, Boston and Chicago as a teenager, but surely there are more interesting (and expensive) options out there for a traveler who wants the best suitcase on the luggage carousel.

Want it Wednesday: Balenciaga S/S08 Bag Envy

I have mostly all kinds of Balenciaga envy right now. And the bag that I am currently not only super envious of but also feeling like I absolutely must track one down myself is a floral Balenciaga bag from S/S08 . Seriously, could this bag pair together a more luscious green with the right amount of an oversized floral pattern?

Nancy Gonzalez does colored python correctly

When you get down to the details, it’s no surprise that Nancy Gonzalez ’s bags are so successful. First, the brand keeps costs down by sourcing most materials from its own farms, which means that Gonzalez’s crocodile and python bags are among the most well-priced exotics in the mass-market luxury business. Second, Gonzalez & Co.

Trend Alert: Visible zips and chains

Visible zip detailing has been a shoe and accessory trend for at least a couple of seasons now, but the newer, softer way it’s being used strikes a real contrast with the more ‘punky’ styles we saw last winter. The zips in this coming seasons’ collections are far more about creating an elegant and eye-catching look that works with smart evening wear.

Lindsay Lohan with rich tan squashy handbag

LiLo may be about to spend a short period behind bars, but at least she hasn’t committed any fashion crimes with this lovely rich tan handbag in squashy leather. It’s a lovely burnt shade of autumn leaf, which we can imagine she might look forward to wearing once again when she’s out of trouble…

Metallic styles are absolutely huge this summer, and to illustrate that point, Vanessa Hudgens stepped on to the red carpet in shiny shades at the Charlie St. Cloud film premiere in LA last night

‘Nella’ bag at Not on the High Street

If you’re looking for an on-trend style without being a label slave, Not on the High Street is a great place to look at the moment. Plenty of their designers are in the business of making top quality bags that aren’t in the least ‘alternative’, but in small runs that make the finished product a little more unusual and interesting

My Balenciaga Color Saga continues: Murier

Moving to NYC will ensure an easy in-person shopping experience for just about every item I want to check out. It doesn’t mean I will stop online shopping (hello, what are late sleepless nights for), but I will have the fashion world at my finger tips. Don’t get me wrong, South Florida is filled with amazing shopping, like our hangout Bal Harbour Shops, but we all know it is not the same as NYC.

RHNJ: “I do respect the elderly.”

And here we are again, Week 11 of an interminable march toward our own demise. Real Housewives of New Jersey shows no signs of stopping at any point in the foreseeable future, and I’m afeared that might mean another 14-episode run like we saw from the New York housewives. The only problem with that, of course, is that the New York housewives actually DID THINGS.

Studded bucket bag by Mischa Barton

Mischa Barton’s styles really are evolving! We’ve seen quite a lot of recent designs from the label that really stand out as being visually ‘different’, and while we had nothing against her boho styles and floral motifs, it’s refreshing to see her come up with something a bit less tame.

Louis Vuitton Fall 2010 accessories

We just can’t get enough of this new print used for by Louis Vuitton for the label’s autumn winter collection for 2010. Shown here on the iconic speedy (left) and also on a smaller clutch bag, it’s a fabulous blend of traditional and contemporary that LV is getting absolutely right in many of its designs at present.

Bargain Tuesday: Disco sequin bag at Tesco

We’re sensing a certain ‘disco fever’ in the air at the moment. Perhaps it’s the holiday mood creeping in, reminding us of times when we’ve lost our inhibitions and danced like mad things to the latest Euro pop hits? Whatever it is, it’s a good excuse to glam it up and start posing, so how can you do that in a way that allows you to revert to your more sensible gear in September without shelling out too much on the crazy holiday style

High Street vs. Designer: Love Thy Bag vs. Jimmy Choo

We’ve all gone ‘wow’ at the new military-influenced handbag range at Jimmy Choo, and then ‘ouch’ at the price, which is more or less a tidy grand for each full-sized accessory. And for many of us, that’s where the internal conversation would end.

[Image: REX] Paris Hilton and her big sister Nicky have been showing a bit of a shift towards city chic and more understated style recently, with Balmain and Proenza Schouler featuring heavily in their daily wardrobe decisions (and blimey, it must be a big decision when you’ve got that many clothes and accessories to choose from!

I love the Proenza Schouler PS1. And Jack and Lazaro

As if I needed more reasons to adore the Proenza Schouler PS1 … This video from Net-A-Porter not only gives us more looks at the bag itself but also gives us insight on the design of the bag straight from the designers themselves. Here are some interesting facts about the Proenza Schouler PS1 : 1 ) It was supposed to be the anti-”it” bag 2 ) The PS1 is like a school boys bag stripped of everything with no logos 3 ) The PS1 has never and will never be shown on the runway 4 ) The duo was looking for a low key bag that flew under the radar 5 ) This is the first bag designed by Proenza Schouler (what a hit!) 6 ) They would not create a bag until they found the perfect craftspeople in Italy to do so 7 ) Jack’s favorite version of the PS1 is brown suede ( coming soon to NAP ) I was already set on buying a PS1 and now I am double set, if that is even possible
