In our never-ending periodic quest to find stylish options at a variety of price points, today we have a reasonably priced alternative to the Nancy Gonzalez Hand-Held Croc Clutch that I wrote about last month. A flame-haired Rihanna seems very attached to her latest accessory here: a large tote bag from Vlieger & Vandam , with an embossed image of a gun on the front panel. I’ve heard claims that this imagery ‘tells us something about the rise of violent crime in our society’, but rather suspect that the brand’s devotees just think it looks cool.

Small, designer items at similarly bite-sized prices make the most fantastic gifts, and we find they’re often much appreciated. I’m almost tempted to buy this retro Ted Baker purse right now and stash it away in my ‘emergency gifts’ box, which always comes in useful when unexpected birthdays or leaving-dos pop up out of the blue.
